"Plein Air oil painting has been my passion for more than a decade. Plein Air festivals throughout NYS challenged me to capture a wide range of subjects. Experiencing seasons closer to home allowed me to revisit favorite spots. During the pandemic I explored an old family farm and its century-old barns, cemeteries, machinery, crops and hedgerows in spring, summer, and fall. It is deeply satisfying to paint away from roads and distractions".
Brief biography Family and teachers encouraged my artwork from an early age. I attended the High School of Music & Art where I started painting in oils. I studied design at The Cooper Union and earned a BFA from Hunter College. I moved from NYC to rural NYS and currently reside in the southern Adirondacks. I worked in arts administration and have been a freelance graphic artist and book designer for three decades.
